This replica is  the earlier version of the Bascinet (or bascinet), at the start of 14^th century, it had no visors and this were worn underneath larger Great Helmets. in The middle of 14^th century, many medieval knights discarded the great helmet because a fully visored bascinet helmet was arrived to replace old one.
